August 21, 2017 solar eclipse in the Pacific Northwest. I built two solar filters and applied them to 3D-printed mounts for my Nikon CoolPix P900 Camera: one filter was fashioned from Thousand Oaks Solar Film (~ND100000) — this shows the sun as an orange/yellow object — and the other filter was crafted from Baader Plantetarium Solar Film — showing the sun as a grey/white object. On the first half of the pictures, sunspot 2672 can be seen around the 7 o’clock position. On the second half, sunspot 2671 is well-defined in the midsection of the sun.
